Aberdare band ‘Replaced By Robots’ are gearing up for the release of their hotly anticipated first album. Transmissions From A Digital Heart follows a number of sell out shows that have placed the band as one of the most exciting live acts currently playing in Wales. Both band and album started life in September 2011, formed by three Aberdare-based musicians, Wayne Bassett, Craig Chapman and Dorian Holmes. The three are no strangers to South Wales’ legendary music scene, having played in bands over a number of years, all gaining respect and accolades along the way. In 2012, the band invited some of Aberdare’s premier musicians to join them; Mitchell Tennant, Rhys Jones, Richard Boggis and Andrew Llewellyn. This took the band from a studio concept to a fully-fledged live vehicle, fusing alternative rock with dance music to create something not heard before in venues across South Wales. Aberdare’s music scene has always been commended for the talent and camaraderie, now the Robots – arguably a product of this environment – have started the journey towards their ultimate goal. With high praise coming from people as diverse as Boyd Clack (Musician/Writer of Satellite City & High Hopes), and Anthony Rivers (Landlord/Author of Soul Crew), Replaced By Robots have recently been asked by John Mouse (Formerly of JT Mouse, current manager of The Factory, Porth) to be his backing band on a European Tour in December 2012, impressed by the band’s technical abilities and their on-stage performance. Read more on Last.fm.
