The Cellophane Suckers are a high speed Rock 'n' Roll Band from Germany. It was in 1993 in Bergisch Gladbach, GER the dark suburbs of Cologne, when five high school-buddies decided to form a rock 'n' roll band.
The Cellophane Suckers are:
Sven Wixner (Foxy Lady)
Hauke Helldriver (Axeman)
Lyle Muckleburger (Hammond dancer)
Glen Grant (Guitar, Bad German and poseur)
Jan L. (Lead Bassplayer and substitute vocals)
Chris Cadillac ( Lead Drummer)
During the years the "Suckers" released following six 7 inches,"Lovin' you ain't no crime" `97,"Let's Rock" split E.P. with Jet Bumpers `97, "Solution Prostitution" '99, "Schweinhund" '00, "Want a man/Ramrod" '02 and four Albums called, "Burnin' Miss City" '96, "Hell Yeah" '98, "Too much temptation" '01 and "Can't say no" '04.
The influences of the Suckers’ songs can basically be found in a 40 years old Rock history. The mixture of their own ideas combined with the stuff of The Rolling Stones, The Saints, The Stooges or The New Bomb Turks
opened the way for numerous tours through Germany and other European countries. Supporting great rockers
like Turbonegro, Zeke, New Bomb Turks, The Murder City Devils, Sonny Vincent, Gluecifer, The Hives and The
Flaming Sideburns their exciting show race came to its climax by joining Scandinavias Rock 'n' Roll flagship The
Hellacopters during their German tour in 2001.
But there is a bunch of German bands too, the Suckers used to freak out with and they still do. More than once
they shared the stage with The Moorat Fingers, Dumbell, The Radiation Kings, The Beatsteaks and The
Dirtshakes.
The Cellophane Suckers are also to blame for the German expression schweinrock which is a synonym to the genre high energy rock n roll!
