Sining na Naglilingkod sa Bayan (SINAGBAYAN) or Art for the People is a Filipino mass organization of nationalist artists, writers, cultural workers and activists; individuals and groups who are competent or inclined in the various disciplines of art and literature and are ready to arouse, organize and mobilize the masses towards the path of National Democracy. Its roots date back to 1994 with the performance group Tumbang Preso, named for the children's game where slippers (representing art and literature) are thrown at a tin can (representing society's ills). Tumbang Preso was renamed as the Tumbang Preso Multi-media Group in 1997 when its membership expanded to include theatre artists and musicians. In 2000, the group was "reborn" as SINAGBAYAN to represent its commitment to advancing nationalist, scientific, and mass-oriented culture in the Philippines. SINAGBAYAN's first major production was Piketlayn ng Bayan in 2000, a musicale that highlighted the plight of Filipino workers under then-President Joseph Estrada. It held its Founding Congress in 2004 as a national organization, and since then the group has held many performances encompassing multiple disciplines, including music. In 2023, SINAGBAYAN released UMAKLAS!
