Place Aux Dames was formed in July of 2011 when all the members worried about not having much bands at their school play for their legacy concert (which happened on November 18, 2011.) What brought them together was their love for music and their common interests. The first things they did together before their first band practice was to look for a band name and list down songs to practice. They came up with band names like "Ecstatic Bacon" and "Argyle Mullets" and even had the idea of having mullets dyed into an argyle pattern. Finally, when they came across the Foreign Words and Phrases section in the dictionary, they found Place Aux Dames (pronounced plas-o-dam) which is French for "make way for the ladies." (Thanks, Merriam Webster.) After posting an acoustic cover of All Time Low's Remembering Sunday and performing the songs Breakeven by The Script and That's What You Get by Paramore during a school activity, they began to gain fame in their batch, and amongst the high school students. Their so-called "fan base" grew even more when they performed during their batch's legacy concert entitled "Diverse... Yet One" in which even their own teachers let out some tears of joy. Since then, they became good friends with many other bands in their school, the closest one being Velocity, who also performed in the concert. They practice on Fridays and on days without classes. They are currently working on their own original songs, and plan on forming at least an EP. They are also hoping that they find more places to play. Read more on Last.fm.
