from the author of the music itself to you, the listener; gubs (also known as fiv95, or gab h.) is an artist from ciudad de buenos aires, argentina, starting their life in september 1999, that started making music as a hobby in 2010, originally as a means to make music for the radio, in quite a youthful mindset, although the sound of the initial years' songs' was vastly different from that vision. most of it now being lost media (up until 2020), by 2013 having made a good amount of unpublished albums' worth of music, some of which made it into subsequent albums, particularly those from 2015, in either reworked, remastered or original form. as the years went by, an influence in particular that has stayed until this day, is none other than aphex twin, the main influence in terms of electronic music, and it allowed gubs to elevate that vision into a more well formed, peculiar style instead of just misguided tunes intended, in wishful thinking, for radio. in 2012 gubs posted songs into two soundcloud accounts, only one of them surviving to this day, and in 2013 they made the big move to start posting on bandcamp as well, a practice they still do to this day and which helps them promote and even profit a little from it. in 2015 they posted three significant early albums, the wacky, zany 'in some cases', the more reigned in 'quasar's lullaby' (which featured a track called 'blidia sman', it appeared on early forms of the popular web game agar.io! as it was made for a minicompetition for tracks intended for its soundtrack), and the last actual finished album until 2023 that they posted, 'garden'. all-the-while posting on a music making site called battleofthebits.org, from a friend's recommendation for a while gubs kept making a lot of drafts and some occasional finished tunes, but faced a huge burnout which made them hugely inactive, but they worked extensively and earnestly on a new album of tunes, this time with a more perfectionist attitude in which they wanted less repetition (a thing the early output was admittedly a tad bit marred by), and more craftily made melodies and composition, main working titles for that album were 'flinger', and 'first group'. they went with the latter title and finally posted the album in 2022, returning to activity. but it wasn't that easy; in 2020 they lost every single file on their computer on an incident just before the announcement of the quarantines, and this was a huge blow to their will and motivation to keep on making music... but as said, the album was posted in 2022, seeing gubs found a .zip file compiled in 2018 in hopes of quitting everything they did in frustration, which ultimately ended up saving them and their album, it was comprised of almost 50 drafts, demos, some nearly finished tunes, some finished ones, unmixed tracks and bare ideas. but it is a fun and curious, if extensive listen that made gubs find their mojo back, this time with full intention and more energy/creativity. by this time their style is very dreamy and surreal, and has its dark moments as well as its cheerier ones, but all melodic in comparison to the older stuff, a huge improvement in their views, their inspirations are mainly dreamy/dark rock music from the 80s and 90s (coldwave, post-punk, minimal wave, minimal synth, ethereal wave, dream pop, shoegaze, new wave), a rare thing for a strictly electronic styled musician, but the aphex twin inspiration is still running strong. they released in 2023, finally after such a long time, the dreamiest album to date, and with a tint of noisiness, 'completz end' in 2024 they released two albums, the very eclectic, long and sometimes very fun 'painting of the void', and 'echos mourning, millenary', an album they're very proud of despite its shorter and more concise length. the three albums were the most well received albums they released as of yet, and their most popular after 'quasar's lullaby' a retrospective compilation was also released before both the 2024 albums called 'top of the dreams: a gubs compilation', which has a few additional unreleased curiosities and improved mixes of certain tracks, along with a majority of the best tracks so far in gubs' opinion. currently, an album is in the works, it might be called 'an idyllic picture + vortexes', and two tracks are already done... the standout is the 7 minute track 'fenedictive on lateralia of nowhere', an unusually long, noisy and energetic track for their career. it was very well received. there's also a 2nd remake of a 2012 track that impacted gubs ever since but is sadly lost to time in its original form, the first remake being on the 'first group' 2022 compilation and this one being the most faithful to the original, it is called 'thousands of feelings and wishes'. those are the two advance tracks that have been posted to friends. here's hoping for even more beautiful, inspired tracks that bring joy to everyone listening. and eventually partaking on different projects with different styles, more akin to gubs' inspirations, instruments involved. finally, they also have an alias for noise/soundscape improvisations called Hal Omz, for those who are into that sort of stuff. it can be found on bandcamp and rateyourmusic, like the 'gubs' output, thank you. and after mid 2025, after a transitional period/technical issues, they had the idea of starting up a mostly vocals-based project with a direction further going into a sound based more on underground post-punk/shoegaze/coldwave/lo-fi/neo-psychedelia/minimal wave/dream pop bands with a very DIY approach. production upping the effects usage up a ten notches than before and creating gargantuan landscapes of effects, even if the vocals carry out the melodies way more than the instrumentals themselves most case scenario in the early output. said output is very very prolific, even moreso than the gubs era. the ideas are flooding by as gab has reached a point of maximum point of proper execution of their own ideas... a continuation of this alias...
