After years of playing in other bands and different projects, friends Franklin Garcia (Vocals/Keyboard), Anthony Gauna (Guitar) and Abraham Tobar (Guitar) decided to begin writing together. Some musical ideas started flowing between the three, and soon Jeff Olivares (Bass) and Nick Ibanez (Drums) were asked to join in. Together, the five members created When Good Friends Become Strangers. Each member brings their experiences and varying taste in music to the project. Specific influences for their current writing and performance include: Portishead, Radiohead, The Cure, Ours, David Gilmour, Minus the Bear, and Codeseven. Formed in mid 2007, the group first performed at San Antonio's Limelight in March of 2008 and have had various gigs since then. The band just finished recording their debut EP at Shok Studios in Helotes, TX entitled, the "Cities and Years EP". It was produced by themselves.
