From Oxford/Brighton, formed in France, currently based in Oxford and London. We Aeronauts are a 7-piece pop group and have been together since 2007. Initial sound was folky, but now the accordions and banjos have been replaced by distortion pedals and synths. Have played with Why?, Stornoway, Jonquil, Laura Marling, Jeff Lewis and Okkervil River and appeared at Iceland Airwaves, Green Man, Standon Caling and Truck festivals. The Chalon Valley EP (2011) documents the formation of the band with hokey, folk instrumentation and a guest appearance by the Cathedral Choir of Christchurch, Oxford, recorded in the Cathedral itself. The Don Valley EP (2013) is more representative of the band in its current form, with distorted guitars and pop melodies the order of the day.
