Wave Mekanik aka Adam Deering was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1974. Growing up with nothing more than an old transistor radio in the house and about four receivable TV stations, his earliest musical experiences came from radio stations like Atlantic 252 and TV programmes like Top of the Pops. During his early teenage years he was exposed to various forms of rock, metal, punk and hardcore. Albums from bands like Guns N Roses, Rage Against The Machine, Metallica and Napalm Death may have dominated his record collection during his teens, but there was still plenty of room for everything else from REM and Paul Simon to The Soup Dragons and James. It was Adam’s love of a good melody that got him hooked on bands like The Stone Roses during the Madchester days. Happy Mondays and Charlatans were also a big influence during that time and eventually turned Adam's attentions more towards dance music in the very late 90's with clubs such as Velvet and Red Box on Harcourt St. being the main purveyors of the sounds at the time. After building up a relatively large collection of dance music on vinyl, the next logical step was to venture into Dj-ing with private parties being the venues, more so than nightclubs. It was during this time that Adam became interested in music production. Influences include everything from underground house, electronic and experimental music through to pop, indie and rock. Currently based in London, he is still involved in various music projects. Read more on Last.fm.
