Tumaca is a musical project led by Tom Powell, born in the UK and raised in Madrid. He started in 2018 during a music production course at UCLA University in Los Angeles, California. Here he trained under the tutelage of US industry veterans such as Michael Vail Blum (Producer and engineer with artists such as Madonna, Prince, Pink Floyd) and Darryl Swann (John Frusciante, Macy Gray, Black Eyed Peas). With his EP Tumatropicalia, he managed to attract the interest of the industry with his brand of pop and ethereal psychedelia, with hip hop and indie dance rhythms.
