Tobias Felix Kuhn, songwriter and producer, grew up in Cambridge (UK), Beijing (China), Heidelberg and Würzburg (Germany). In the beginning of the 90s he became known as a musician when he founded the band Miles in Würzburg. In 1996 Miles recorded with Olaf Opal (The Notwist) at the Uphon Studio in Weilheim and signed a contract with V2 records. In the following, Miles recorded three albums and played many tours and concerts all over Europe, the USA and Japan. In Japan, the single „Perfect World“ became No.1 in 2000. 2004 the band dissolved. Since that time, Tobias Kuhn concentrates on his solo project Monta and focuses on the production of other artists and composes film music: In 2008 he produced the new album „Heureka“ by the Hamburg located band Tomte in Berlin. From August 2008 till January 2009 he was co-producer for the Sportfreunde Stiller album „MTV Unplugged in New York“. During this time he also worked with german legends, amongst others Udo Jürgens. Tobias Kuhn was nominated for the „Echo“ (German Grammy) for the Sportfreunde Stiller-work. Needless to say, that he takes pride in this nomination. In 2009/2010 Tobias composed and co-produced songs for the latest Udo Lindenberg album „Stark wie Zwei“, composed two new Monta songs for the Wim Wenders movie „Palermo Shooting“ and wrote the title song („the one“) for the movie „Sommer“. Right now, Tobias is working on his third Monta album, which is set for release in winter 2010 and the solo record of Thees Uhlmann, singer of Tomte. Read more on Last.fm.
