There are at least two bands named The Wild Oats.
1. The Wild Oats were a British R&B / beat band of the 1960s. Coming from rural Suffolk they recorded a number of stomping contemporary R&B versions of songs such as Marvin Rainwater's 'Whole Lotta Woman' and the classic 'You Can't Judge a Book By Its Cover'.
2. The Wild Oats were a band that played Celtic and original folk at San Diego, CA, United States-area coffee houses, science fiction conventions, Renaissance Faires and Society for Creative Anachronism events since 1991. Influences on our style include: Silly Wizard, Steeleye Span, the John Renbourn Group, Boiled in Lead, Jolly Beggar and the Medæval Bæbes. Although the Oats parted company in 2001, you can still hear Allison Lonsdale, or Eben Brooks, playing old and new songs at Lestat's on Adams Avenue. Read more on Last.fm.
