The Weatherdeck Division produce a sound that has been described as edgy alternative rock with a dash of punk. Their lyrics hold an underlying current derived from the power of the ocean and the resilience of the human spirit. The first release by The Weatherdeck Division, “In Dust and Ink” is an innovative six song EP. Engineered and co-produced by Dean Baskerville (Everclear, Sheryl Crowe). The EP dictates the struggles, separation, and self- reflection as seen through various archetypes created by the band. The collective live energy of the band has been compared to the likes of The Loved Ones, The Gaslight Anthem, and Strike Anywhere. Musically they draw influence off Alkaline Trio, Muse, The Foo fighters, The Thermals, Elliott Smith and countless others. The band refuses to limit themselves to any particular genre or sound, but maintain a familiar edge through out their songs.
