Started up in 2008, The UpGrade was just two brothers who wanted to write and play music. In the beginning, Patrick Patterson went up to his brother, Michael, and asked, "Hey, how about we write some music?" Mike replies with, "Sure," and Patrick quickly responds with, "Let's not mess this up."
Then in the year 2012, The UpGrade started looking for a few other members to join the band. They added Jordan Jones, also from Sioux City, to be their vocalist and lyric composer. Jordan's previous engagements with the Patterson's was when they were part of their high school band, The PaceMakers.
Andrew Theesen, of Hastings, NE, took percussion classes with Patrick Patterson in college, where they met. Patrick knew he wanted someone else in the percussion side of the music to help out, and Andrew was the guy he was looking for. They are in the process of writing new music for the band.
