As an art form, musical improvisation is often the most inspiring, exasperating, overwhelmingly emotional interchange between performer and spectator. It takes generous talent, and serious guts for a musician to take the stage without a script. On the recieving end, the listener must approach the music with a liberated mind, ready to be challenged and hopeful for a worthwhile outcome. Every experience I've have with local improv gurus The Supplicants has left me radiant, fulfilled in the way only the most profound spiritual encounters can.
