The Suicide of Miss Melancholy, as well as their label, Teahaile Recordings, are a front for the not-for-profit artist, Joshua Frattarola, who believes that as much as the artist can afford it, art should be free to the general public.
The band was active between 1999-2003, and released two albums; the first dedicated to Jeff Buckley, and self-titled in 2002, and a second titled 'Integrity is Plastique' dedicated to Elliott Smith in 2003.
Despite the growing support and recognition the band was receiving, the Suicide of Miss Melancholy disbanded, cordially, in late-2003, due primarily to the differing directions of Frattarola and bassist, Israel Slick, not to mention some rising emotional issues that Frattarola was experiencing. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/The+Suicide+of+Miss+Melancholy">Read more on Last.fm</a>.
