There are several artists with this name: 1. a Finnish band, 2. a US band, 3. a Scottish band, 4. a Dutch beat band from the '60s. --- 1) The Streams, a Finnish pop/rock band from Turku got its definitive start when the founding members of the band were on a pilgrimage in Spain, the route which goes through northern Spain and is called the Camino de Santiago. 500 kilometers of blood and sweat made Mitja and Timo think deeply and they also found a common path in the field of music. The band's first demo was recorded in early 2007. Since then, The Streams has toured around Finland and written more material. The Streams is a trio. Singer, guitarist Mitja Kiviluoma writes the band's songs for the most part himself and arranges them together with bassist Timo Saare and drummer Mikko Siusluoto. The Streams have had a lot of influences over the years, but the most important are The Killers, The Police and U2. Folk music has greatly influenced Mitja's composition and writing style. They published their first self-published album "The World Is On Fire" on Friday 15 May 2009 which was celebrated in the form of an acoustic gig at Bar Kuka, the number one bar in Turku. The EP was off to a great start, as the 1st edition was almost sold out quickly. It was produced by Oskari Ruohonen, known from Traffic Island. The EP was a preview of a long-playing album, the recording of which start in early autumn 2009.
