Daniel, Steven and Andrew McWilliams, all brothers, have been playing music together since they could wrap their hands around the neck of their dad's guitar. With family from West Texas to Southern Louisiana, their music is deeply rooted in the sounds of the South.
Living in Lubbock in the early 2000's, Daniel developed a passion for Texas music by watching Cory Morrow play for rowdy Tech students in small, crowded dive bars. Steven and Andrew were in Dallas watching Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen explode out of the Hill Country. The Texas music scene was on fire – so they dove in.
Dwayne Bollmeyer and Derron Bell teamed up with the McWilliams brothers in mid-2010 and the band became the best it has ever been. Dwayne and Derron (lead guitar and percussion) have played every gig imaginable – from the Dallas Philharmonic to the Houston Rodeo.
What's the best part about playing Texas Country music? Steven jokes about the infamous Texas/Nashville dispute: "Texas music, for me, is so special because of the loyalty and passion of the fans. The live performances are so intense - I just don't think you can find that watching Rascal Flatts sing a duet with Justin Bieber. Is that just me?"
In 2009, the band released "Love, Guitars and Whiskey,” a record that reveals the energy and youth of a group excited to hit the road – to play their show – and, most importantly, to be heard. Ronnie Huckaby, leader of George Strait's Ace in the Hole Band, co-produced the 14-song record with Tommy Detamore. Tommy owns Cherry Ridge Studios in Floresville, TX and has produced records for Jamie Richards, Sunny Sweeney, Kevin Fowler and others.
