The Rebel Wheel is a modern progressive-rock ensemble based out of Ottawa Ontario. While the band doesn't necessarily sound like these artists, their influences range from Gentle Giant to Frank Zappa via Genesis and Rush and feature a frenetic mix of rock aggression, odd-meter vamps, and turn-on-a-dime arrangements. Originally formed in 1991 as a fusion-based midi ensemble, the floating lineup has gradually solidified to the current five piece featuring guitars, keyboards, drums, bass, sax and vocals.
The band has just released their second CD on 10T records called "We Are In The Time Of Evil Clocks". The album is a study in contrasts often juxtaposing quite acoustic sections with extreme synth noise and muscular odd-meter riffage. Read more on Last.fm.
