Brothers Andy Paley and Jonathan Paley achieved a burst of local success as young heartthrobs and power pop musicians from the mid to late 70s. Andy was the frontman of the Sidewinders, which petered itself out after its 1972 self-titled effort. He remained in obscurity for several years afterward until he appeared on Elliott Murphy's critically acclaimed 'Night Lights' LP in 1976. He then teamed up with his brother to produce a set of The Beach Boys and The Beatles inspired pop tunes. The New York duo released a self-titled album in 1978 that has since been regarded as a cult classic by power pop music fans. They also recorded a track ("C'Mon Let's Go") with the Ramones for the soundtrack to the seminal 1979 film 'Rock 'N' Roll High School' and spent quite a while hanging out with the punk legends. This was one of the few times in Ramones history in which someone besides Joey Ramone handled the lead vocals. After the brothers' partnership folded in 1980, Andy has had a long and highly visible career as a producer for artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis. Read more on Last.fm.
