The Maple Faust was formed in 2007 in Morris County, New Jersey. The band was initially a recording project for Joseph DeGroot and Steven Donahue, with Ezra Lowrey joining the team in 2008. The band's most consistent live line-up was Joseph DeGroot (guitar), Steven Donahue (vocals), Ezra Lowrey (bass), Henry Montesano (organ), Eric Richards (drums) and Andrew Smith (guitar).
