THE BLUE SWIMMERS FORMED IN 2002 IN A SHITTY LOFT JUST OF VICTORIA STREET IN RICHMOND, MELBOURNE. WE HAD FUCKING JUNKIES SLEEPING ON OUR FRONT PORCH, THE RANKEST SMELL OF HOPS AND SHIT COMING FROM THE BREWERY NEXT DOOR, IT WAS ABOUT A HUNDRED DEGREES AND WE WERE ROCKING THE FUCK OUT(well not exactly rocking cause we had keyboards and sounded like an even gayer b52's. but we were giving an honest c...rack) Originally we were a five piece but dropped to a two pretty quickly after our keyboard player left and we kicked guitarist/singer Phil's ass to the kerb. So then it was full steam ahead. We played a heap of gigs and recorded an EP in 2006. But shit just wasnt working with our drummer. Maybe it had something to do with the fact he had recently found god. Who knows? But we had to kick his ass out aswell and thats when we met Juddy. Juddy was and is and will always be a FUCKING LEGEND. The guy was mad as a cut snake but also one of the sweetest beautiful sensitive people you'd ever meet. Maybe too sensitive? He was a fucking musical genius. Guitar, drum, sing you name it. The guy had it all. So we gigged around Melbs, played some wild shows, recorded our first album MECHANICSOFTHEMACHINE in 2008 at HotHouse studios. Then for something different we kicked the shit out of eighty other bands and won ten grand at this Last Band Standing band comp. hehe suckas!! So everything was looking up..then..FUCK!!! Juddys dead!!!!! That was and is and will always be so fucked! Juddy (or Justin ' Juddy Roller Bam Bam Shabooey' Brooke) was just not cut out for this fucking rat race. He was too nice. He is missed everyday by his friends, family and his son Z. So naturally we lost our shit a bit, said the band was over and drank what was left of the ten grand. It was bout six months later when we decided to get another drummer and keep this shit going. Thats when we met Salts. Good old Salts!! For a lil fella he beats the shit out of those pig skins. like they slapped his missus! He's a brilliant song writter (listen to 'No Salty Beef' on our new album) and can scream like a fucking banshee. So now every year we have a Juddy Roller Memorial gig where we raise money for his sons trust fund. By the time he's old enough to get it there should be heaps, and if he's anything like his old man it'll be one hell of a piss up. We have a new album DEADWEIGHT out now and the next JR Memorial Gig is also the new album launch. Pony 25th Febuary. Hope you can make it.
