There are 2 groups named "The Andersons"
1: Minneapolis-Based Rock Group
2: Los Angeles-based power-pop band featuring Robbie Rist
Sometimes two people are just born into synergy, their friendship so strong it produces art so powerful it shakes the world. That can certainly be said about the music force of nature that is The Andersons. Myranda taught Sarah Penn to churn butter, and Sarah taught Myranda to murder a hobo. But their hearts taught them both to write a great tune.
In 2003 The Andersons began work on what would define the Minneapolis music scene for the next decade. The Bullards Bags EP was released on 1/18/2005 and sold out of it’s limited printing in less than 24 hours.
Suddenly and unexpectedly The Andersons disbanded and left the spotlight like an animal in the night. Their fans crushed in their disbelief began the beg for a reunion.
However, a reunion was not what they recieved, late in 2005 Myranda Secor played a surprise show at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The result was rap music so crunk’d the crowd felt as though they were living a dream in spoken word.
Myranda Secor’s solo work was more than fans could have dreamed of. But on January 31st 2007, The Andersons officially reentered the musical arena. When pressed Myranda confessed a new album was in the works and would be released later in the year.
---------------------------------------
The Andersons were a Los Angeles-based power-pop band featuring Robbie Rist (Bob Anderson), Derrick Anderson, and Bill Anderson. They were active from 1998-2003, releasing two albums and a variety of contributions to compilations. During their existence, the band were one of the more prominent members of the LA pop underground, and all of the members played in or produced other bands.
Robbie Rist is most famously known for his work as an actor; he played "Cousin Oliver" on "The Brady Bunch" and also was the voice of Michelangelo in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies.
He was also in the band in a short lived animated '80's cartoon called Kidd Video. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
