Catchy rock and roll that harks back to its hay day with a southern draw and bluesy overtones.
A word on "The Amorist".
Although our community has experienced it's share of brilliant artist's (famed and mundane alike), seldom does an energy the likes of The Amorist appear. These guys, southeast texas residents all; have truly pulled their hearts and heads together to bring us not only this amazing music, but damn near the most rockin live show this town has ever seen.
The Amorist;as we know it is comprised entirely of local talent:
ZACHARIAH SILAS, CHASE PERKINS, MIKE O'PRY, GREGORY PRICE and BRANDON STACEY came together in the summer of 2008 whilst "makin it happen" at the Park_st. jam-rooms. I remember when songs like "ghost-town and carpet bagger" were merely riffs with promise, and i recall how much fun it was to hang out while these guys reveled in their own "genius". In the beginning there was no direction; that was the point, to just play. However it seems these guys couldn't help but produce something more concrete more whole; something for everyone. .
It has been only a month since The Amorist began performing publicly and we have seen the local music scene practically turned on its head: rightfully so (I might add). This fantastic response from the public in a sense gives your wayward narrator a bit of hope for the musical compulsion that sits around this place.
