Tears of Othila is a neofolk group from Genoa, Italy, founded by Marco G. Gardella (Tvmvlvs Seraphim) at the beginning of the year 2000 as a solo project. The first compositions were essentially thoughts, meditations, memories on a soundtrack created by nature itself during long solitary walks. Later on a more acoustic folk-based approach was followed. The chant of tradition spread and other persons, friends, musicians and contributors became involved in the project. Their first album, titled “Renaissance!”, was recorded between 2006 and 2007 and was released on Ark Records in 2008. Their second album, titled "Way to Traditions", was conceived by Marco G. Gardella during various sessions in the woods of Lago delle Lame between 2007 and 2010. It was released in 2013, again on Ark Records.
