Syphus is a demoscene/8bit/chiptune musician based in Newcastle, UK. He is a member of Swedish Amiga/C64 demogroup Up Rough and composes mainly on the Commodore Amiga, having done so since a very young age when first exposed to the pioneering chipmusic exponents of the late '80s and early '90s - Radix, 4mat, Lizard King, Cartoon, TDK, etc. As well as having released many tunes in scene productions over the years, Syphus performs his music live. 2007 saw his participation in the Chiptune Alliance tour of the UK and a mini-tour of venues in New York as part of Project Transonic, followed by further Chiptune Alliance tours, demoparty appearances around Europe and Blip Festival '08 in NY.
