Strong Like Sam (often abbreviated to SLS) was an Australian rock band formed in Canberra, A.C.T. in late 2004. By 2005 they were already receiving airplay on alternative radio station Triple J. In the relatively short time the band was together, they played well over 200 shows and performed at many festivals throughout Australia and New Zealand. These include: the Parachute festival in New Zealand, two Blackstump festivals, both Soundfests, two Indyfests and two Beauties and Bogans festivals. The band took a short break in 2007, before returning triumphantly to the stage at the Jamison Inn in Canberra on 27th October 2007, sporting a new guitarist and a whole host of brand new songs. Their comeback, however, was short lived and not long after this the group announced their disbanding. SLS planned to perform one final show at the So Long Safety EP launch in Canberra to say goodbye to all their loyal fans, but it fell through.
