Stereophonic Space Sound Unlimited is a duo from Switzerland, formed in 1996. The duo consists of Ernest Maeschi and Karen Diblitz (Karen Simpson). They also run the record store Spooky Sound in Zurich. Stereophonic Space Sound Unlimited manages to create music that feels both nostalgic and timeless. Their tracks function like short film scenes – like the soundtrack to a never-made 1960s spy movie. Their sound is a stylish blend of surf, space age pop, 1960s spy vibes, retro sci-fi aesthetics, lounge, and exotica soundtracks. Many tracks sound like instrumental themes from old TV series, often featuring guitars, organs, analog synths, and retro percussion.
