There are more than one band called Space Invaders:
1) An old-school hip-hop band featuring Watch from the Swankys and GAI. Band has many samples and typical NYC hip hop influences, but quixotically there are songs such as "Who Killed Johnny 5" which are very inspired by punk and hard core (this song is basically Chaotic Dischord's "Who Killed E.T.?").
2) Hardstyle Project by Cristian Nardelli & Matteo Pitossi a.k.a. Art of Fighters/Meccano Twins
3) A trio from Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais, that simply does a unique sound without precedents. Lauro Mesquita, Rafael Bernardo and Herlon Brandão played together from 1995 to 2006. After that Herlon left the group and Marcos starts as new bass player. The band has played punk rock since the beggining, but along the way they let go traditional and boring formats to adopt an unclassified unique sound, mixing vanguard and pop.
With open ears the trio mixes the most diverse influences in their blender and takes off a broth completely unique tunes.
4) SPACE INVADERS...improvised music to travel into space! Mike Häfliger, Paul_Pott (ZONE SIX), Dirk Jan Müller and Dirk Bittner (ELECTRIC ORANGE) found SPACE INVADERS in back in 2010 while meeting on a jam-session at Herzberg-Festival. In sign of Psychedelic-Spacerock SPACE INVADERS did sessions with such veterans as Damo Suzuki (CAN) und Mani Neumeier (GURU GURU). For a gig in Switzerland, they invited Dennis Gockel (Weltraum) for the drums. Soon after he became a fulltime member of the band. This indicatory gig was mixed up at Studio Fleisch and is now available for the first time on Nasoni Records. The artwork was done by Weltraum Records. The band retuned to Herzberg Festival in 2013 where they played another legendary concert! Read more on Last.fm.
