Biography
Vinicius Sosa, better known as SosMula, was born on April 19, 1988 (although Sos claims to be born in 1994, all the evidence known shows his actual year of birth is most likely 1988) in the favelas of São Paulo where he was given a rude introduction to the world. Vinicius Sosa, better known as SosMula, was born on April 19, 1988 (although Sos claims to be born in 1994, all the evidence known shows his actual year of birth is most likely 1988) in the favelas of São Paulo where he was given a rude introduction to the world. Immigrating to America in 1990 at the age of two, Mula started a tumultuous state-to-state shuffle before eventually settling in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Mula’s sound developed in these new stomping grounds, fusing the dexterous slant-rhyme style of NYC rappers with the fiery spirit of the Spanish Harlem.*
The transformation from Vinny Sosa to SosMula began in high school. Rapping by the tenth grade, his friends took notice and dubbed the emergent emcee “Sos.” Surrounded by hard living, Sos was extremely motivated for success. The desire to better himself and his family grew into an unapologetic love for money, and led to his self-christening as Sos Money. A stint in jail further honed his resolve, and refined his pseudonym; Sos Money became SosMula. Though the dollar-bill association may be standard practice in the hip-hop community, the name resonated on a deeper level with Mula’s spirit and ambition. He soon found himself shouting his signature “MULA!” war-cry over studio mixes. Mula is Sosa’s world: "from the way I dress to the way I talk. It’s my name but it’s my life style."*
In 2005, SosMula's rap skills got noticed by 1 Shot Dealz as he was heavily involved in the battle-rap scene on 105th in the Wilson Projects. They have become friends since then. However, from 2005 to 2010, Mula was constantly in-and-out of jail before finally returning in 2011.* On that same year, he released his first (or, at least, his earliest known) track, "GLASS HOUSE".
From 2011 to 2015, Vinicius released music in the typical early 2010s rap/trap style, often collaborating with 1 Shot Dealz, his friend at the time. On January 2nd, 2014, on his now-abandoned Facebook account, Sos announced he would be dropping his debut EP, "City of God" soon, and after the EP, he said he would release "90 Thousand in Dimes"* mixtape. Neither of which ever dropped. So, his pre-City Morgue discography consists of only singles.
In mid-2015, though, SosMula once again got locked up. At that time, when the police caught him, Sos had money with him that belonged to 1 Shot Dealz, which the police had confiscated. That was the reason why the beef between those two rappers started. They cleared things up a couple of years after that situation.**
In the meantime, Righteous P was working at SosMula's mother's tattoo parlor. She told Righteous P that her son is a rapper, so when SosMula finally got out of prison in August 2016, he immediately moved to Brooklyn and Righteous P took Sos under his wings. At first, Sos was part of a very short-lived trio called SCUM SQUAD, which consisted of him, ZillaKami and 6ix9ine (Tekashi69 at the time). However, Tekashi got into beef with the rest of the crew, so instead, in 2017, Sos became a part of the trap metal duo called City Morgue consisting of SosMula and ZillaKami.
At first, Vinicius was focused on the duo, however, after 2021, his primary focus clearly has changed to his solo career. For a long time he was signed to Republic Records, that was until he got dropped from the label not too long after dropping SLEEZ RELIGION. Now he's under Ricky Hil's Limosa Nostra which is under 10k Projects which is under Atlantic Records. Ironically, he dissed Atlantic Records label previously on a leaked song of his, "FEDERAL", where he said: "Republic gave me 2 mil, fuck Atlantic".
Summary of his solo projects:
-In 2019, he dropped his debut solo EP, "KLEAN UP KREW EP" which was a SoundCloud-exclusive drop.
-In 2021, he dropped his debut mixtape, "13 SONGS 2 DIE 2".
-In 2022, he dropped "2 HIGH TO DIE" (+deluxe), "CRASH OUT BOYZ EP" (joint EP with Ryder Johnson, one of Sos' frequent producers), "BODY BAG MUSIK" (joint EP with OTL Beezy) and "SLEEZ MACHINE".
-On September 13th, 2024, he dropped "SLEEZ RELIGION".
-On October 31st, 2025, he dropped "KAMP KRYSTL LAKE".
