Sometime in February started as the instrumental solo project for Charlotte, NC based musician Tristan Auman. The guitarist/songwriter recorded the debut EP “Here Goes” with several studio musicians before bringing on drummer Scott Barber and bassist Morgan Johnson as permanent members. As a group, they craft their own unique texture of progressive rock and metal by taking pieces of post-rock, math-rock, as well as their past and contemporary influences such as Intervals, Haken, and Dream Theater. With the release of the debut LP “There Goes” they aim to carve out their own place in progressive music in the Carolinas and beyond. In June 2023, Tristan had the pleasure of filling in on guitar for Between the Buried and Me and spent 6 weeks on the road touring the US with them on the Parallax II 10th anniversary tour. He says it was an "incredible experience and an honor." Sometime in February will go back to playing shows and working on new music for the rest of the year.
