(1)Sister Love is an - more or less - electro-pop/lo-fi-pop artist from Cologne and Bottrop, Germany. Founded in 2002 by Tanja Keilen (vox) and Christoph Koterzina (guitar, vox), they developed an unique sound, mixing electronic and synthy-music with punk-alike guitarres and the touching voice of Tanja, likewise cappable of makin' your feet jump around and dance or slitting your sleeves. Until 2006, "Tiz & Chriz" are being supported by Jonas Bareiter (bass) and Johan Fink (drums). Eventually in 2006, they released their first selftitled EP featuring 6 tracks. While "Smack Smack" or "You're sweet but I won't" are pulsedriving one-of-a-kind uptempo-electro-pop-songs, made for dancefloors & festivals, "Let it" and "Rockshow" revealing a soft, melancholic & beautiful side of the band, letting you feel all the beautiful suffering transportated by Tanja's Voice.
Many differnet styles, musical backgrounds and innovative composing makes it difficult to categorize. In their own words, Sister Love classify their music as "melancholy lo-fi-electropunk".
Tiz & Chriz: "Sister love sounds like Portishead were meeting Ben Folds and The Cure, covering Bob Dylan songs never been written ... or like Orient-Dali on Crack."
Christoph Koterzina is also playing in the alternative-rockband "Helicopter". Also he was lead-singer and guitarrist of the ingenious indie/progressive band Mournful from Bottrop, Germany, that existed from '97 until December 2005. Also drummer Johan Fink has been playing with Mournful, too, from 2003 until their breakup just a few days before New Year's Eve (and their second long player, which was as good as done, but hasn't been released till this day).
The band:
- Tanja "Tiz" Keilen (vocals, vermona)
- Christoph "Chriz" Koterzina (guitar, vermona, backing vocals)
- Jonas "Jonesman" Bareiter (bass)
- Johan "Joe" Fink (drums)
