"Shiv-Hari" refers to collaboration between santoor player Shivkumar Sharma (born January 13, 1938, Jammu, India) and bansuri flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia (born July 1, 1938). In 1967, Shivkumar Sharma and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia teamed up with guitar player Brij Bhushan Kabra to produce the concept album Call of the Valley, which turned out to be one of the greatest hits in Indian Classical Music. The innovative use of the guitar on the album made it popular among people from Western countries. Although they mostly embarked on solo projects at different points of their respective careers, Shiv-Hari teamed up eight times to compose music for Hindi films, some of which were big hits: Silsila (1981), Faasle (1985), Vijay (1988), Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991) Parampara (1993), Sahibaan (1993), and Darr (1993). Shiv-Hari continue to perform live together. They toured multiple locations such as London and Singapore in 2011. Read more on Last.fm.
