Seth Maynard was born April 25, 1967 in Charleston, West Virginia (USA) and now resides in Elkins, WV with his family. He is well-known regionally as a musician (guitar/bass/voice), recording studio engineer/producer/owner, and music teacher. As a child, Seth's musical influences included his father (jazz/classical piano), mother (voice), and oldest brother (rock drum set). At the age of 10, he became particularly intrigued by the sounds and experiences of his brother's semi-pro rock band as they rehearsed in the family basement. Both of his brothers were constantly listening to a wide range of rock-based music on 8-tracks and vinyl, and Seth was especially captivated by the electric guitar sounds of Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Santana, Skynyrd, Kiss, the Doobie Brothers, and others from the 70's and 80's. He began to write songs and experiment with "toy" instruments. Then, at age 13, he received his first "real" electric guitar and by age 16 he formed his first rock band.
