Semen Says started at a small apartment in Oporto, Portugal. They combine such instruments as guitar, portuguese guitar, synth, piano, organ, voices, couch-drum and table-drum. One of the most peculiar things about the band is their aim at what they call "musical chaos": about 90% of their songs are made on the fly (they only have a vague idea on the concept and start to record to see what comes), which creates their somewhat unique genre. Their lyrics focus on actual subjects and what they believe to be "the social rottening": domestic violence, racism, stupidity, prostitution and pedophilia-related scandals. They also reflect about some social issues as economy, politics and religion.
