Seigneur Voland was conceived by vocalist Xaphan whilst he was in prison serving time for "grave desecration" (he and Black Christ from Funeral and Blessed in Sin, along with 2 other people exhumed the corpse of Yvonne Foin and planted a crucifix into her heart). Finally in 1999 he was released and recruited three other band members, L.F. (Kristallnacht), Rimmon and Rost and the legend was born. The band name Seigneur Voland is a reference to Satan from the middle ages. All members from this band also played in Kristallnacht, except for Xaphan who was the vocalist of Funeral, a pre-Kristallnacht band. In 2002, all activities of the band members ceased and Seigneur Voland was laid to rest, but the band reunited for a small tour in 2004.
