Sam explains...Why "Turn the Page"? "Turn the Page"(TTP) actually came about as a side project for our original "Southern Rock " band, The Sam Morrison Band. We'd been playing for a lot of biker type events and we needed to play a LOT of cover material in order to fill up a whole night. We played a couple of Bob Seger tunes at the time and the response we got was INCREDIBLE! People continually commeneted on how much I sounded like Bob Seger and it was obvious that everyone LOVED his music. Since he (Bob) had not toured in over 11 years, everyone missed hearing his material "Live". Wherever we would perform we constantly got requests to do more and more Bob Seger. Up to this point, I was unaware of the "Tribute Band" explosion that was currently underway. We happened to be playing in Las Vegas when I started to notice how many Tribute acts were playing there. As I started to dig deeper, I noticed that the most successful acts were the ones that paid tribute to artists that were no longer touring such as the Beatles, Doors, Eagles etc. That's when the idea for "Turn the Page" began. We decided to add a Keyboard player and another female back-up singer in order to fully re-create the Bob Seger Live Experience and see what would happen. The response has been nothing short of incredible. Unlike a lot of the Tribute bands that are currently performing, we do not "pretend" to be the Silver Bullet Band, wearing costumes etc...Bob Seger has always been just 100% straight ahead Rock and Roll. That's what you get from us , a true representation of the man and his music. "Turn the Page" has now become an important part of what we do. We have traveled all over the country performing TTP as well as our own Southern Rock shows. It truly is an honor to pay Tribute to Bob Seger, a man that has written the soundtrack to the lives of so many people. Last year, The SAM MORRISION BAND AKA TURN THE PAGE, signed a major record deal with Titan Tribute Media to record 3 CDs of Bob Segers Greatest Hits. Acclaimed Producer Michael Vail Blum (Madonna, Pink Floyd, Kelly Clarkson, ..the list goes on) discovered that audiences going to see the live tribute shows not only loved the music but that they wanted to have the music from their band as well. Three hot selling CD's and over 200,000 downloads on itunes later, Turn The Page has been firmly established as the Premier Tribute Band To Bob Seger, delighting audiences all over the world and the crowds just keep getting bigger.
