S10 (pronounced "es‑teen"; Stien den Hollander, born on 8 November 2000) is a Dutch Nederhop/alternative‑pop/emo‑rap artist from Hoorn. She's also part of the duo Froukje & S10. History: 2016–2018: Beginnings Stien den Hollander began her career in 2016 by self-releasing the EP Antipsychotica, which she recorded on her Apple headphones and uploaded to SoundCloud. Shortly afterward, she was discovered and in 2017 signed with the Dutch hip-hop label Noah’s Ark. In 2018 she released a second EP titled Lithium, again referencing psychiatric medication, reflecting her ongoing themes of mental health. 2019–2020: Debut album and recognition In November 2019, S10 released her debut studio album Snowsniper. The title references the Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä and, according to her, symbolizes solitude and her internal search for peace. In February 2020, the album won an Edison Award in the “Alternative” category. Later in 2020, she released her second album Vlinders (Butterflies), which peaked at number 5 in the Dutch Album Top 100. 2021–2022: Eurovision and third album In 2021, S10 released the single “Adem je in” (co-written with Jacqueline Govaert). On 7 December 2021, she was announced as the Dutch representative for Eurovision 2022 via broadcaster AVROTROS. Her Eurovision song “De Diepte” was released on 3 March 2022, and was the first fully Dutch-language Eurovision entry from the Netherlands since 2010. She placed 11th in the final with 171 points. On 28 October 2022, she released her third studio album Ik besta voor altijd zolang jij aan mij denkt. 2023–Present: Recent work On 21 March 2025, S10 released her fourth studio album Mijn haren ruiken naar vuur. Her sound on this album includes more atmospheric production, in part produced by Jordan Fish (formerly of Bring Me the Horizon). After several singles, Froukje & S10 released the collaborative EP "Frok en Stien" in October 2025 and sold out two joint shows at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Musical style and influences: S10’s music spans Nederhop, alternative pop, and emo‑rap. Her lyrics are deeply personal, often dealing with mental health issues like depression, psychosis and auditory hallucinations—reflecting her own experiences. Over time she has collaborated with more experimental producers (e.g., Jordan Fish), which has broadened her musical palette and added richer textures to her later work.
