Robert Waechter is a modern classical composer and writes essentially for violin. He was born 1958 in Vienna, Austria, where he grew up and studied the violin with Hertha Binder and Alfred Staar. In 1980, he became the concertmaster of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. Since 1984, he has been concertmaster of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Opéra de Nice and lives in France.
