Reek of the Unzen Gas Fumes (ROTUGF) are a Japanese extreme metal band located in Mie Prefecture. Formerly known as Putrefactive Harpoon Of Buddha Pond until 2012. Their musical style is predominantly grindcore with flagrant use of drum machines, incorporating industrial, black or death metal, and noise influence. ROTUGF frequently made splits with other obscure black metal artists. Their lyrical themes are radical Japanese nationalism, anti-Buddhism, war, death and sadism. On the 31st of May 2020 they were briefly removed from Bandcamp.
