Rasheeq Rayhan is a self-taught musician, audio engineer, producer and multi-instrumentalist with guiding light from heterogeneous musical influences. His solo project portrays an ever-evolving canvas of bizarre musical journeys with stirring visuals. It is a pastiche of myriad sounds and noises consistently and seamlessly incorporating progressive rock, psychedelic influences in a frame of ineffable devotion to post rock, contemporary ambient, cinematic, soundtrack, trip-hop, meditative, electro-styled music resulting an artifact which is very diverse, organic, distinctive yet difficult to categorize. All programming and composition are performed by Rasheeq, with exception of the occasional guest musicians. Also being an aesthete in personal life as well as having keen interest in philosophy and spirituality, the solo project serves as a podium for his art, photography and film explorations providing scope for collaboration with other artists from different fields. After stints in several groups including heavy metal Shashok (i.e. The Ruler), progressive metal Oparthib (i.e. Ethereal), and technical death metal Infibulator, in 2012 Rasheeq went on to form psychedelic/progressive rock band, Quanta, of which he is still an active member. Quanta is a trailblazing act in town specially known for their reclusive, thoughtful and meticulous live performances which contain electrifying visuals, breathtaking light-shows along with proficient sound offering the audience an indelible experience. Always having a compelling passion for divergent music Rasheeq kicked off his solo career in late 2012. Substantially stimulated by various progressive, psychedelia, avant-garde acts from different musical eras, he wrote and recorded some materials and performed them (later surfaced as "Breath Of Brahman" and "A Delicate Desolation") in couple of local gigs receiving acclamation from friends, fans and critics. Although at this point it was just a field for personal studio exploration and a little source of private amusement, after writing ample materials for a full-length record he opted for issuing an album under his own moniker and give the silicon-data a physical existence. The first single of the album "A Delicate Desolation" is out in this Summer with a music video which is available in DVD featuring a unique packaging comprised of an exquisite art gallery with a 15-page-booklet of official photographs, behind-the-scene footages, demo sketches, a cover video and bonus materials in a hard-book-styled case. The package is designed by Rasheeq himself and also contains the high resolution 44.1kHz/24bit Stereo LPCM version of the audio track intended towards the audiophiles as well as people who cherish a physical record as a work of art. The full-length album is set for release in 2014. Read more on Last.fm.
