Quarteto Nova Era hailed from Niteroi, Brazil, a small city across the river from Rio de Janeiro. Niteroi had an active music scene in the late 60's/early 70's, but the bands were often overshadowed by their counterparts in Rio and Sao Paulo. A lone 4-song 7" EP, extremely hard to find today, is all the Quarteto managed to release. It's a shame; with greater exposure they could easily have had a place alongside the better known Tropicalia artists of the day.
