Proximal Distance is a musical collaboration between Jeff Hamel of Majestic and Gregg Johns of Slychosis. The compositions are filled out with vocals by Jessica Rasche of Majestic and drums/percussion by Jeremy Mitchell and Todd Sears affiliated with Slychosis. The music combines classic prog elements with progressive metal and neo-prog. The music is interwoven with the complementary leads and counterpoints between the guitar and keyboards of Hamel and Johns. Jessica Rasche provides powerful and expressive vocals which evoke an emotional response from the listener. The rhythm is heavy prog polyrhythms with an edge.
