Poundaflesh were created in the fall of 2000 by Shaun & Mark. Rich joined on Bass & was soon to be followed by Flipper on drums. After an initial rehearsal it was decided that a different drummer was needed, as Flipper couldn't actually play drums! So Flipper moved to Guitar & Pug was drafted in on drums. This line-up continued for around 6 months.
Pug was then replaced by Stu on Drums and this line-up produced the 1st CD (Obscene Display) & went on the 1st Euro tour. A single "Cry From The People" was recorded for Rinderherz Records from Switzerland after which, Rich decided to leave in Dec 02 & was replaced by J on Bass after a brief stand in by Gaz from Road Rage. We then had 2 studio sessions (Dub Rek & our usual Zoo Studio's) & recorded 7 further tracks including a cover of Discharge's De-control. This was shortly followed by our 2nd & most successful Euro tour. Stu left us in Dec 03 & thankfully Andy stepped in for a few gigs then Keith was drafted in full time. With this line up came our unfortunate 3rd Euro tour which took place in Sept 04. (Apologies to all concerned.) This spelt the end of an era for Poundaflesh.
Mark sadly passed away in Oct 04 after a long and tiring battle with illness. Due to this the band decided to take a break .Meanwhile Blind Destruction & Dead World Records offered to release all our material on one CD, which resulted in the release of "Manifesto" this year.
Shaun & J soon resumed rehearsals with the help of Ash on Drums. A few weeks later J swapped his Bass for Guitar. Flek was then drafted in to play Bass & Flipper rejoined the ranks on Guitar in July, only to leave again by winter! And so with a couple of new faces and some new material comes the dawning of a new era.... Read more on Last.fm.
