Oh Caroline is the project/alias of singer-songwriter Joren van der Voort. Joren was born in Amsterdam (in The Netherlands) in 1983, where he grew up, went to school, went to college, wandered around and decided he wanted to be a songwriter. He fell in love with the great songwriters of the 60's and 70's: Carole King, Lennon & McCartney, Burt Bacharach, Randy Newman and Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys and his dream became to write songs just like them. In fact, the name Oh Caroline comes from one of Joren's favorite Beach Boys songs, "Caroline No". When he was 22, Joren attended a music college in the south of The Netherlands where he formed a band and started playing his songs, which, after two years resulted in the studio-album Red Wine & Diet Coke.
