Of Sound and Silence is an unsigned, 5-piece progressive hardcore/metal act hailing from Mahopac, NY. They are known in their area for making music that perfectly blends melody and brutality into one. Band members consist of Lead Guitarist Andrew Tompkins, Bassist Nick Pereira, Guitarist Andrew Formale, Drummer Andy Avitabile, and Vocalist Alex Romans. Of Sound and Silence is an unsigned, 5-piece progressive hardcore/metal act hailing from Mahopac, NY. They are known in their area for making music that perfectly blends melody and brutality into one. Band members consist of Lead Guitarist Andrew Tompkins, Bassist Nick Pereira, Guitarist Andrew Formale, Drummer Andy Avitabile, and Vocalist Alex Romans. A couple of years ago, the band was fronted by former vocalist Alex Patrick, when the band was known as Five Star Fatality. The band will be releasing a 9-track unsigned album entitled Mirabelle by the end of the summer of 2007.
As of Early 2012, the band has announced a reunion with the original lineup from Five Star Fatality. Vocalist Alex Patrick, Lead Guitarist Andrew Tompkins, Bassist Nick Pereira, Guitarist Andrew Formale, and Drummer Andy Avitabile are going to be re-recording and writing new material to finish an album that was due out in 2009. They are in the studio laying tracks down hoping for a 2012 release.
