The band begun their journey in 2009 from Detroit, MI. While taking several roadtrips down to Grayson York's home(Toledo,OH) where they ended up playing and writing music together . The York home was already set up as a jam space- filled with amps, sound equipment & microphones, in the basement ( since Gray's dad, had played guitar for over 40 years and was part of a local band since the 70's). After a short temporary hiatus for Guitarist Alex Barefoot... Ryan begun playing and learning bass guitar after first meeting Grayson in 2008 when he first mentioned Ryan looked like a Bass Player rather then a guitarist ( Ryan was learning guitar before he played bass). Their childhood friend, (another guitar player) Ryan, & Gray, then formed a band and later acquired Jordan Sparks (Ryan's brother) for keyboards who at the time was taking vocal lessons by a vocal coach. Alex shortly shifted back in the picture around the end of 2011 when their original band fell through & their childhood friend guitarist left to pursue other interests. Interesting enough Grayson , Alex, and their childhood friend would spend hours at their church in previous years which made it destiny regardless for a band to be formed. At this time, when Alex came back to hang out and write music, Jordan Sparks performed in many talent shows and became their front man & shortly after Northline was born. The band was not named because of the road , but because of all members (including Grayson) being from Michigan, since they played in Toledo and if you looked , north of the border line from Ohio, the state was Michigan . We are actually in the process of compiling some songs for EP & just spent last night working 4 of them plus we will be doing a cover of Daughtry's Home. Excited to show you, we hope to record a few of these songs before we release a full length album in 2015 , you will be one of the first to hear them... We are thinking of doing an acoustic cover of "Walk Away" as well.
