Nonsemble is Brisbane’s indie chamber ensemble, formed with members of Mr. Maps and some of the city’s best young classically trained instrumentalists. Since being formed in 2012 by composer Chris Perren, they’ve played alongside Sigur Ros and Beck at Harvest Festival, released two major recordings through bigo & twigetti and LoFly records, have been invited to play and talk at TEDxBrisbane, and were featured twice on New York’s influential “I Care if You Listen” mixtape. Their music draws on post-rock, indie, and electronic influences, whilst taking advantage of the meticulous control afforded by notation and classical training. Their second major work, “Go Seigen vs. Fujisawa Kuranosuke,” was released through bigo & twigetti on May 4, 2015.
