nokeys is a new wave/post punk band (their references scope from Depeche Mode and Joy Division to early U2 and the Smiths among others).
nokeys have a past, but they’re not very interested in it. They’re interested in their present.
Their first album “The Regency”, produced by Swedish producer Stefan Boman (Kent, Hellacopters, Backyard Babies and many other Nordic acts) put the band on the map, with its original blend of languages, new wave and dark atmospheres and intense energy.
Since releasing “The regency” in November 2009 in Italy (SFEM /Audioglobe) and Sweden (SFEM/Wonderland), nokeys have received lots of airplay, reviews, played at Italian independent festival MI AMI, done two mini tours in Scandinavia, performed for the kick off event of Siesta! Festivalen 2010, filmed two videoclips in Sweden and performed in front of many different audiences, always getting enthusiastic feedback.
A showcase in Berlin at Popkomm 2010 was their last stop before starting to work on new material with Stefan Boman in studio between Stockholm and Italy. “Envy”, the first single which anticipates their second album “Cold War”, is accompanied by a video clip written and directed by the team of Solobuio Visual Factory, known for their work for artists such as Spiritual Front, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Ardecore and many others. The videoclip was presented with a showcase in Berlin during Popkomm 2011 and was then launched with an exclusive on the website of Rolling Stone Italy. Read more on Last.fm.
