Diane and Roberto swam in Puerto Rico's bio-luminescent bay, got hit by a car in Mexico, played the heat game in Texas, watched the towers go down in NYC, walked the back alleys of Detroit, had a daughter in North Carolina, and did a bunch of other stuff, including writing and playing songs on some records.
Since 2003 they've performed as New Town Drunks accompanied by some of the best talent North Carolina has to offer. Currently the band includes Stu Cole (Squirrel Nut Zippers), Nathan Logan (Hooverville), Doug Norton (Bill Newton's Big Blues Quartet), and Robo Jones (Firecracker Jazz Band).
Lost (single, 2004) - Lost is a song which is a secret, so don't tell anyone about it.
...trust us with your car (EP, 2005) was recorded at Sound of Music Studios in Richmond VA. An excellent driving record. "A testament to dirty realism." Joe Henderson, Amps 11
alive & drunk (EP, 2006) is a live recording from a concert at the world renowned Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC. "Delightfully wild and crazy." Meghan McNeer, Performer Mag
The Ballad of Stayed and Gone (LP, 2009) recorded in Chapel Hill with Jesse Olley (Ultra Fin Riz Productions) at various locations. "A thoughtful reflection of life in transition." Jordan Lawrence, Daily Tar Heel
NTD also released two songs on 'Ed' a great compilation from the Chicago label, Disclexington Records.
Though they have yet to record it, they are also known around Chapel Hill for singing the lyrics to "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" over the music to the song "Girl From Ipanema."
