NailStorm was an extreme metal band from Sheffield, England, consisting of Adam Parkin (vox), Andy Thompson (guitar), Eddie Rudd (guitar), Sam Hodgson (bass) and Iain Scott (drums). Influenced by the likes of Brutal Truth, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Cryptopsy and disparate other bands from the prog, jazz, grind, metal and hardcore scenes, they released two studio EPs, "From Hands of Pain" (2000) and "Subcontortion" (2001). "Subcontortion" was later released as a split EP with Killing Mode on the Metamorphic Records indie label. There was also a live record that remained unreleased until after they split in 2002 - it has subsequently been made available on the net with the band's permission, as have the studio EPs. NailStorm's music is free for any non-commercial use - any commercial use must have the band's permission. It can be downloaded from http://www.myspace.com/nailstorm/ - the page is maintained by Thompson. After the band split in May 2002, Scott went on to drum for The Mirimar Disaster (www.themirimardisaster.com), Rudd and Parkin formed One Man And His Blunderbuss (www.onemanandhisblunderbuss.com). Both bands have released albums in the last year, one on Childhood Sweethert Records and the other on Undergroove Records. Hodgson worked with Hiram (www.myspace.com/hyraam) as bassist and producer/engineer on the forthcoming record "If Up Were Along" before leaving to pursue a career as a session player and sound engineer. Thompson retired due to health reasons. Read more on Last.fm.
